Visiting Kawah Ijen and Mount Bromo: is a classic route to see a highlight of East Java. When you are in Bali, getting to Banyuwangi is a good start to explore East Java. Take a public bus from Ubung Bus Station in Bali to Gilimanuk Ferry Port, then continue by ferry to cross Java. Getting a public bus to Java does not need to book in advance, just go straight to the bus station and find the bus there. If you are lucky, you can get the bus directly. Taking a public bus could be the cheapest option but will take longer time than booking a private transfer from Bali (Click Here) as the bus will stop almost everywhere on the street to pick up passengers. Here we found a vlog video by @joshgoesslow who took a local bus from Ubung Bus Station To Gilimanuk Ferry Port.

We advise you to book a train named Wijaya Kusuma at 11.00 AM to Probolinggo, this is the most reasonable train to get after doing the Kawah Ijen Tour. When you book our Kawah Ijen Midnight Tour Package we will finish the tour roughly between 09.00-10.00 AM. The train ticket to Probolinggo starts from IDR 200.000/Person, the price would vary depending on the class, travel by train on weekends or public holidays could make the price a bit more expensive.

Make sure to arrive at the train station 30 Minutes before the departure time, and save your E-Ticket on your smartphone. Direct Train From Probolinggo To Yogyakarta
The only direct train available from Probolinggo to Yogyakarta is called "SRITANJUNG", it is an economic class train. This could be the cheapest way to get to Yogyakarta but it is a lack of comfort honestly. A bench as a seat for 2 persons sitting, it is fine for most Indonesians but has small leg room and is less comfortable for the seat as it can not be reclined.
Train schedule, price, and booking
This train will depart from Probolinggo Train Station at 11.29 AM then will arrive at Lempuyangan Train Station in Yogyakarta at 08.30 PM. It cost only IDR 88.000/Person, cheap enough for 8 hours of travel. It will also stop for transit at Surabaya, so you can take this train to go to Surabaya anyway.
Book a train ticket can be done online at https://en.tiket.com/kereta-api, it is one of the most popular trains. Booking the ticket in advance is highly recommended, the ticket was easily sold out mostly on weekends and public holidays.
